Heavyweight Contenders:
#2
ranked Turkish heavyweight Gökhan Saki, "The Rebel,"
is out to continue his rampage through the heavyweight
ranks, racking up KO after KO over much larger
opponents, and he won't stop until he's got the
Heavyweight World Championship belt wrapped around his
waist.
Former Romanian Secret Service agent,
world #3 ranked heavyweight "The Savage Samurai"
Daniel Ghita, has a score to settle with #2 ranked
Saki, and this 4-man tournament could easily result in
the explosive tournament final match up of Saki vs.
Ghita, Part III.
#6 ranked "Prince of
Kickboxing" Rico Verhoeven is an absolute tank of a
heavyweight, measuring 6 feet 4 inches and weighing in
at 260lbs. Rico is the youngest competitor in the
tournament at 24 years old, and he's ready to step up
and take the crown.
Tournament dark horse, #8
ranked Anderson Braddock Silva comes out of the same
camp as his MMA namesake, and years of sparring
experience with the great Peter Aerts have taught him
a thing or two about what it means to fight with the
best.

WKA OFFICIALLY IMPLEMENTS “GLORY RULES”
World Kickboxing Association and GLORY Sports
International
Announce Cooperation with A
Unified Rules of Kickboxing Template

New
York, NY (Sept. 13, 2013) – GLORY Sports
International, the world’s premier
kickboxing league, announced its
cooperation with the World Kickboxing
Association resulting in the
implementation of a set of standardized
rules called “GLORY Rules” (GR) for a new
WKA division that will sanction fights
utilizing them.
WKA has
officially adopted a set of rules
developed by Glory Sports International
(GSI) that reflects a meeting point of
unique elements of both Thaiboxing and
Kickboxing. Together these blended styles
create a fast and exhilarating pace that
GLORY fans have come to know well. This
news is serendipitously timed for the
league’s major television presence on
Spike TV, premiering Saturday, October 12,
2013.
Brian Crenshaw,
President of WKA USA, expressed his
excitement for GLORY’s success with
professional kickboxing in general. “Due
to WKA USA’s support, amateur fighters
will be given an opportunity to fight with
the same regulations as the GLORY fighters
do.”
On this subject,
Crenshaw stated that he feels that there
should be a “farm system” to help fighters
gain experience, saying, “We rolled out
the ‘GLORY Rules in the US for the recent
Combat Sports Challenge 37 held in
Richmond, VA in late August to great
success.”
